Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
This 24-week program caters to some of the highest-risk patients in the community. It aims to equip participants with essential skills to live in the present, manage stress in healthy ways, regulate their emotions, and foster better relationships with others.
For individuals who:
Feel emotions more intensely than most people, or feel like they "hit fast and fade slow".
Struggle to get through crises without doing something they might later regret.
Have relationships that feel chaotic or unstable.
Engage in self-destructive behavior (self-harm, substance use, risky behavior) as a way to cope.
Struggle with an intense fear of abandonment.
Have been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, PTSD, depression, an eating disorder, or anxiety — though DBT helps many people without any formal diagnosis.
Simply feel like you were never taught how to handle hard emotions and want a practical, skill-based approach.
Benefits of the Program:
Structured 24-week DBT skills training.
Focus on emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness.
Offered on a sliding scale to ensure affordability and access.

"I am immensely grateful to Step Forward Health Society for their invaluable support. Thanks to their assistance, I was able to attend a counselling session with my son during a challenging time. This experience had a profound impact on my mental well-being, and I truly appreciate the financial help they provided. Without their generosity, I wouldn't be the person I am today. Thank you, Step Forward Health Society for making a significant difference in our lives."
